WBJEE, West Bengal Joint Entrance Exams 2013

West Bengal Joint entrance examination (WBJEE) 2013 will be conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board as an entrance exam for students for taking admissions in engineering degree colleges. The WBJEE was commenced in 1962 as a common entrance exam for short listing the candidates to get admission into the engineering and medical colleges of West Bengal state. There is a tough competition among the students for qualifying and appearing in merit list of WBJEE.

WBJEE 2013 – Important Dates (Tentative)

· Date of Sale of Application Kit: November last week to December last week, 2011

· Last date for submitting the Application Kit “by post”: Mid of December, 2011

· Last Date for submitting the completely filled in applications “by Speed post” only: Second Week of January, 2013

WBJEE 2013 – Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who would like to apply for WBJEE 2013 should fulfil the following eligibility criteria.

· Candidates should have passed the XIIth standard exams from recognised Central or State board with at least 50% marks.

· Candidates should have physics, chemistry and mathematics as subjects in XIIth standard to apply for admission into engineering colleges.

· Candidate should have at least 30 % marks in English (for all the categories).

· Candidates belonging to reserved category should have at least 40% marks in XIIth standard.

· Candidates should have aggregate 50% marks in all the subjects together including Physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM).

· Minimum age of the candidate should be at least 17 years

· Students who are appearing in their standard XIIth exams can also apply for VITEEE Exam 2013 provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria the time of admission.

· Candidates should be resident of state of West Bengal for at least 10 years for being eligible to apply for the WBJEE or parents of the candidates should be permanent residents of West Bengal

WBJEE 2013 – How to Apply?

Applicants should apply for the WBJEE 2013 exam by following methods.

· Applicants can purchase the admission form from specified branches United Bank of India in West Bengal by making payment of Rs 500/- (for E/M type forms) and Rs 600/- (for C type forms)

· Applicants can also obtain the form by post by sending a request letter to WBJEE Board office along with additional fees of Rs 200 via DD. The DD should be drawn in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board” payable at Howrah/Calcutta.

Applicants should read out the instructions carefully, fill the form completely and enclosed it in the printed window envelope that comes with the kit. The completely fill form should be sent before last date via speed post only.

WBJEE 2013 – Score Validity

The score of WBJEE 2013 candidates remains valid for one year.
