JAM, Joint Admission Test MCA Entrance Exam 2013

Joint Admission Test 2013 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee as an entrance exam for students for taking admission to various post graduate courses such as MCA, MSc, etc. IIT is considered as one of the prominent universities of India that has excellent infrastructure and state of the art teaching facilities

JAM 2013 – Important Dates (Tentative)

· Availability of application forms and information brochures : By fourth week of december 2011

· Final date for issue of application by post and from IIT roorkee : By third week of January 2013

· Final date for issue of application forms and information brochures at Bank counters : By third to fourth week of January 2013

· Final date for Online Registration on the website : By fourth week of January 2013

· Final date for submitting completed OMR application form along with Demand Draft : By last week of Jan to first week of February 2013

· Declaration of the result: By last week of May 2013 to first week of June 2013

JAM 2013 – Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who would like to apply for Joint Admission Test 2013 should fulfil the following eligibility criteria.

· Graduation with Mathematics as a subject for minimum one year/ minimum two papers of Mathematics in semester system

· Applicants should have at least 55% aggregate marks in graduation (For General/OBC category) or equivalent CGPA

· Applicants belonging to reserved category (SC, ST and PD category) should have at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA

· Students who are appearing in their final year exams can also apply for JAM 2013 provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.

· Applicants have to pass the physical fitness test before taking admission to course

JAM 2013 – Structure of MCA Entrance Examination

JAM 2013 comprises of Multiple Choice Objective type questions that includes four options for every question.

Questions cover the topics from subjects taught in computer applications course at graduation level.

The negative marking is done for every incorrect answer where 0.33 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

Online Application

Applicants are required to apply online by logging to the official website at http://www.iitr.ac.in/jam

Candidate should keep their digital photo and signature ready as they are required to upload their photo and signature as per the provided instructions on the site.

Applicants are required to take printout of the application form from the official website. This printed application form should be send via mail to the concerned address along with the DD of Rs 900/-(Rs 400 for SC/ST candidate and Rs 800 for girls) and other required documents

The Demand Draft should be drawn on any nationalized Bank in favour of Chairman, JAM, IIT Roorkee”, payable at Roorkee.

Offline method

Applicants can purchase the admission form by making payment of Rs 1000/- (Rs 500 for SC/ST candidate and RS 900 for girls) at the designated branches of Punjab National Bank. Candidates can send in the completely filled application along with Bank Pay in Slip and other documents at the address mentioned in the prospectus.

Candidates can also receive the application form from IITR JAM Office by post by sending the request letter along with demand draft of Rs 1000/- (Rs 500 for SC/ST candidate and RS 900 for girls) for application fees.

The Demand Draft should be drawn on any nationalized Bank in favour of Chairman, JAM, IIT Roorkee”, payable at Roorkee.
