Birla Institute of Technology and Science admission test (BITSAT) is an online entrance test conducted by Birla Institute of Technology & Science, as an entrance exam for students for taking admission to every Integrated First Degree courses of the deemed university. Thus, students who are shortlisted after the selection procedure can take admission in BITS Hyderabad, BITS Pilani and BITS Goa campus. The BITS is regarded as one of the leading engineering institutes of India that provides wide range of bachelor’s courses to the students.

Last date for applying BITSAT: By end of January 2013
Announcement of the entre of exam: By February mid week, 2013.
Sale of application form: February mid week to March 2nd week, 2013
Downloading of hall tickets: From April 2nd week to April last week, 2013
Commencement of BITSAT exam: May 2nd week to June mid week, 2013

BITSAT 2013 – Eligibility Criteria
The aspiring students need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria for applying to the BITSAT 2013
· Aspirant should pass XII standard exam from a recognized Central or State board
· Aspirants should have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects at 10+2
· Minimum 80% of marks in PCM
Minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and sufficient aptitude in English is required for applying for BITSAT 2013
· Admission is done on the basis of merit secured in BITSAT
Structure of BITSAT
BITSAT exam comprises of 150 Multiple Objective Type questions.
· For every correct answer, 3 marks are awarded
· For every incorrect answer, 1 mark penalty is applied
· No mark is given if any question is left without any attempt
The questions cover the topics from various sections as follows:
· English Proficiency
· Logical Reasoning and Mathematics
There is no time limit for attempting individual sections of the examination and aspirant can make any modifications in their answers if required within the specified time limit of the exam.
After finishing all the 150 questions, candidate has the alternative of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions including the topics from Physics (4 questions), Chemistry (4 questions), Mathematics / Biology (4 questions) section if time permits.
However, if the candidate selects the extra questions, he/she is not allowed to modify any of previous answered 150 questions.
